On the other hand, when playing back a 1080p clip with Noise Reduction being rendered on the fly, the number of GPUs was a factor, not the number of CPU cores. Having twice as many CPU cores resulted in faster 'delivery' - but not twice a fast.

Using a 5120x2160 RED clip, we asked it to 'deliver' a copy in ProRes 4444 XQ format. Note that the number of GPUs had more influence that the number of CPU cores. Using the BruceX 5K project, we export a Master File using ProRes 4444 XQ. ( HIGHEST number of concurrent tracks = FASTEST ) Using the EvanLogic sample, we kept adding tracks until Logic Pro X 'cried uncle.' The number of concurrent tracks improved by having more CPU cores. ( LOWEST time in seconds = FASTEST )Įxporting a complex project to Blu-ray format. Essentially cuts the render time in half by have twice the number of CPU cores. We rendered the Dual BMW Benchmark (CPU version 32x32 Tiles). Together on my return from a busy weekend.Compute Device set to "None" forces your Mac to render using the CPU(s) only. Is planned obsolescence a growing issue? Best Practices & General IT.Hi all,I have a user whose mailbox is used for sending customer invoices, so their sent items folder fills up every few months because of attached PDF's.I can't seem to find any way to create the rule where this user is the sender and the rule is to kick. Sent items rules, how to? Collaboration. If I was given an option, I would not have done that. The 2008s have ATI cards and use Adobe products only.Īnother thing to look at is the licensing.

One for Adobe products, and one for AutoDesk products. My 2011 12 cores fair better, but they are far from perfect.ītw, we are using nVidia cards on the 2011s and we have two SSDs. Still there are problems with updates, speed, and seemingly random crashing. My 2008 8 cores can't run a 64bit kernel, but CC will load and run. I've been fighting some issues with Adobe CC on my Mac Pro's as well. Other Adobe products will take advantage of an nVidia GPU, but if you aren't using those products enough, it wouldn't be worth it. You mentioned Photo Shop, so I would say go ATI if that's what you use mainly. Its not going to increase CPU speed it will mainly increase panning, zooming type activity rather than rendering activity No point throwing money at Tesla on a Mac Pro of that era, best off getting the Sapphire Radeon - its a Mac solution, it will work and depending on what you are doing will speed up some Photoshop activity.

I believe the current Mac Pro's have some free expansion slots, does Tesla just speed up video or would it help with photoshop image editing ? this is new territory for me.
